Over the weekend--for the first time ever--my 8-year-old legitimately beat me at a game of chess. I have to say his game has improved, although he's still making simple mistakes.
He got me due to my own foolishness... I left my king in the back corner with pawns in front of it... nothing else was on the file... all he had to do was push his rook all the way forward and it was checkmate.
I'm sure it's the first of many to come.

Hi Daddy,
I was excited to hear that I won was posted on this "blog thing" that mommy showed me.( She also said that you will tell what blogs are when you get home.) OH, I think I beat you before so this is the SECOND time not the first by the way...I think..not sure. I Love you Daddy!!!
